TRAINERS OF OUR FOUNDATION

Sinan Yakar

1-Sinan YAKAR :

Started folk dances in Edirne Folklore Foundation in 1980. Having resumed his practices in this institution until 1987, he also joined The Anatolian Folklore Foundation in 1984. Attending many international and domestic festivals as a dancer, he also served as a trainer for the regions Edirne- Silifke and Elazığ. He is still serving as a trainer for our Foundation.

Burhan Arda

2-Burhan ARDA :

He started folklore practices in the İstanbul University Department of Finance with the regions Elazığ, Antep and Silivri. In 1982, He took up office in Edirne Revenue Board while continueing folk dance and folk music practices in Edirne Folklore Foundation. Within this period, he took up position in the Foundation’s administration while helping with the derivation of some practices of Edirne region along with other Foundation personel. Since 1987, he has been helping transfer the uncorrupted folk dances to the next generation serving as a trainer and a dancer with Silifke and Elazığ regions under the banner of Anatolian Folklore Foundation.

Ertan GÜZEY

3-Ertan GUZEY:

He started folk dance practices in İnönü Elementary school in 1987. He was transferred to Edirne Municipality Folklore Society taking part in İzmir region group along with Edirne region. He joined Easter Mediterranean University Folklore Company, took part in Cyprus and Adıyaman region groups under the constitution of the university thereby attending interuniversitary folklore competitions in Turkish Republic of North Cyprus. He also attended practices under the constitution of Lefkoşa Youth Center Folk Dance Society in 2002. Between 2004- 2007 he served as a trainer for Edirne region under the constitution of Edirne Platin Youth Sport Club. In 2007 he successfully accomplished the course for “Edirne Region Master Trainers” under the supervision of Public Education Center and therefore received a certificate of trainership. Since 2007, he has been continueing his practices as a trainer and a dancer under the constitution of Anatolian Folklore Foundation.

Meltem Güçer

4-Meltem GÜÇER:

She started folklore practices in Yüksek Yeşil Elementary school in 1993. She has taken part in this school’s folklore group Edirne region during her 8 year education. Between 2005- 2006, she took part in Edirne region group and attended Artvin region practices under the constitution of HOTEAD. In 2007 she successfully accomplished the course for “Edirne Region Master Trainers” under the supervision of Public Education Center and therefore received a certificate of trainership. Since 2008, she has been continueing her practices as a trainer and a dancer under the constitution of Anatolian Folklore Foundation.

5-Zeki DAĞ : Folklore Researcher

He started folklore in Promotion of Edirne and Tourism Foundation in 1978. In the same year, he continued practices in Turkish Folk Music. In 1980- 1981 he resumed folk music practices in Edirne Public Education Center. In 1990, He took part in Rumeli Culture and Folklore Foundation as a trainer. He is able to perform Edirne- Elazığ- Silifke and Artvin regional dances. He has attended numerous international and domestic festivals. In 1994, He joined the Folk Dance Trainers’ course of the Directorate of National Education. By attending the Folklore Dances Basic Education courses of the Ministry of National Education, he gained jury membership in category “C” in 1994. He served as a trainer in Folklore Dance Trainers’ courses under the supervision of Directorate of National Education in cooperation with Evening Art School. Again in these years, he prepared a documentary about Edirne named “Edirne’nin Dünü Bugünü”. He became one of the founding members of the “Rumeli Songs Research and Application Society” under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture. He is stil holding a position as a reedpipe artist in this society. In 2004, he attended Turkish Folklore Dances Category “B” of Ministry of National Education- Administration of Scoutcraf Department and is stil serving as a Category “B” jury member in the Ministry of Public Education.

6-Şükran PENEZ

She started folklore practices in Habibler Köyü elementary school. She then resumed folklore in Ticaret Borsası Elementary school. She has been serving as Public Relations Administrative and Children Groups Administrative for our Foundation since 2005.
